The Department of Continuum Mechanics and Structural Analysis of the University Carlos III of Madrid (Spain), offers its experience in Solid Mechanics analysis for the study of the behaviour of structural elements subjected to impact loads.
The technological offer could be of interest to automobile companies (impact and collision security), aerospace companies (impact of external body fuselage, attack, fragment or ice debris) and defense companies (special armours for mobile systems and persons)

What we offer:
An important part of this research activity has been focused to the study of impact protection of aircraft structures submitted to high-velocity impact, such as Hydrodynamic RAM on aluminum or composite fuel tanks, impacts of hard fragments against CFRP
laminates, and high velocity impact of ice (sheets/balls) against sandwich panels or composite laminates.
We offer development of physically based analytical tools, development of constitutive models to be implemented in numerical codes (finite elements, SPH), simulation of impact processes, and impact tests development in our facilities.
What we are looking for:
We would like to meet companies and other research
partners for consultancy or specific research collaborations
or cooperation agreements.
